PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction of scanner differences at implementing of a linking output function, and a reduction of improvement in a printer adjustment precision and a regulation variation. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus computes a masking factor according to each hue region (S607), from a reading value in a calibration reference chart which consists of a plurality of colorless patch of distinct density and a plurality of chromatic color patches, and a reference value of a calibration reference chart, and rectifies a picture signal after carrying out a gray scale transformation of an input picture signal from a picture reading means according to a masking factor. Thereby, the image forming apparatus can reduce a deterioration of a scanner optical system at implementing of a linking output function, a spectral transmittance of CCD, an infra-red radiation cut filter, etc. and a scanner difference such as variation by a difference of spectral sensitivity, and can improve a printer adjustment precision and reduce regulation variation.
