PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube with high safety without the risk of generating a flaw on a face panel by a sharp edge at the tip of a reinforcement band. SOLUTION: A bulb is formed with a face panel 2 having a phosphor screen on an inner surface and a funnel connected behind the face panel 2. A reinforcement band 6 to prevent the implosion of the bulb is attached around the outer peripheral surface of a skirt part 2s of the face panel 2 by shrinkage-fitting. A concave part 10 is formed at a position corresponding to a joint part 9 of the reinforcement band 6 on the outer peripheral surface of a skirt 2s of the face panel 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
