PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a plasma display panel in which a fluorescent substance layer or a reflection layer is formed easily and accurately even for a minute cell structure, and in which the fluorescent substance layer or the reflection layer is formed evenly in the channels between the partition walls formed in stripes, or such a layer is formed also on the sides of the partition walls. SOLUTION: A fluorescent substance ink or a reflection material ink is applied, the ink being spouted out to be a continuous flow from a nozzle 24 which scans along the partition walls 17. Here, the nozzle may be scanned along the partition walls in a state that the nozzle is directed to one side of the partition walls 17, or pressure may be put upon the fluorescent substance ink having been applied so that the ink sticks to both sides of the partition walls 17. Scanning may be performed while a bridge is formed by the fluorescent substance ink between the nozzle and the inner surface of a plate channel. Adsorption force to the fluorescent substance ink or the reflection material ink may be made higher at the side than the bottom in the recess part between the partition walls.
