PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of performance to a minimum, in executing dual writing between remotely located controllers, by restricting the number of data transfers to a minimum even if the distance between the controllers is expanded; to provide a function of leaving no intermediate result of a transaction; and to enhance the performance without requiring execution of an I/O process of control information to and from disks. SOLUTION: A master controller reports back completion of receipt of write data, and then directly sends the write data to a sub controller. The secondary controller stores the received write data into a nonvolatile memory to thereby guarantee the data. Further, by setting a certain reference time point, the secondary controller can guarantee all write data up to the time point, and can discard all write data after the time point.
