PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development system for checking whether or not a character string has proper character string width which can be set in a character field which is controversial in recreating a program into another language display. SOLUTION: This development system is provided with a character settable width acquisition processing part 16 for automatically acquiring character settable width a, b and c of a character field which is likely to be controversial in converting a program into another language display from a form screen and a character string width determination processing part 17 for checking whether or not the character string of another language to be newly treated has proper character string width which can be settled in one line within the character settable width a, b and c of each character field based on character settable width acquired from the character settable width acquisition processing part.
