PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of providing river information, such as rainfall, river water level, and river image via a network. SOLUTION: Rainfall data from a rainfall observatory and water level data from a water-level observatory are sorted respectively to form a database, and a river information server for providing the information, a WEB server for providing information of a document, an image or the like on a WEB system, and an observation camera for observing the image of the river are provided. In this river information providing system, data are acquired at a fixed period from the river information server, and a screen on a browser provided to a client is optimized based on the data, and thereby the present state of the river can be grasped readily.
