PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber which has excellent stability in a fiber-producing process and satisfies a mild high color-developing property having a new pearl-like milky appearance, excellent opacity and excellent UV-cutting effect, and to provide a high grade stretch fabric not causing defects such as naps and longitudinal stripes in warp knitting processes together with processed yarns, crimped yarns, or the elastic yarns of a polyurethane or the like. SOLUTION: This cation-dyeable polyester fiber is characterized by comprising a polyester copolymerized with 0.1 to 6 mol.% of a metal 5-sulfoisophthalate and 0.1 to 5 wt% of polyethylene glycol having an average mol. wt. of 200 to 6,000, not containing antimony or containing the antimony in an amount of≤30 ppm, and containing titanium dioxide particles in an amount of 1 to 2 wt%, and having a color tone L value of 90 to 95 and a residual elongation of 36 to 50%.
