PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft magnetic metallic powder having excellent magnetic flux density and compressibility and also having high insulation properties. SOLUTION: The surface of pure iron powder in which the whole face or a part of the surface is provided with iron oxide is coated with at least one insulation layer selected from oxides, carbonates and sulfates, further, the surface thereof is coated with a silicone resin layer, and the surface of the pure iron powder and the insulation layer are fixed by bond strengthening treatment.
