COVERING MEMBER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING COVERING MEMBER, SLIDING MEMBER FOR CLUTCH, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SLIDING MEMBER FOR CLUTCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covering member in which the adhesion between a base material and a carbon based hard film is more excellent than that of the conventional one, to provide a method for producing the same, to provide a sliding member for a clutch having high adhesion in a hard film and excellent durability, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The covering member comprises a metallic base material having ruggedness formed by projecting a ceramics based projection material on the surface and a carbon based hard film formed integrally with the ruggedness. Its production method comprises: a rough surface forming stage where a ceramics based projection material is projected on the surface of a metallic base material so as to form ruggedness; and a hard film forming stage where a carbon based hard film is formed on the surface of the ruggedness. The sliding member for a clutch comprises: a metallic base material having ruggedness formed by projecting a ceramics based projection material on the surface; and a hard film formed integrally with the ruggedness.
