TITANIA-CONTAINING POLYMER COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titania-containing polymer composition capable of rapidly decomposing environmental pollutant, etc. and scarcely causing decomposition of a polymer material. SOLUTION: Titanium isopropoxide is added to an aqueous solution of glacial acetic acid and these components are agitated at room temperature to afford an acidic titania sol. The acidic titania sol is added to an aqueous suspension containing 500 g synthetic fluorine mica and these components are agitated for 3 hr at room temperature and then, solid-liquid separation is carried out and the solid component is dried to provide titania/clay complex powder. Then, the titania/clay complex powder is melt-kneaded with a polylactic acid to provide the titania-containing polylactic acid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
