PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide footwear where a functional substance can be installed without giving unnatural feeling to a wearing person of it. SOLUTION: The footwear 1 comprising a sole of a prescribed thickness is provided with: a housing space part 8 which is formed by recessing the sole 2 and which has an opening part 7 at any rate at a part of the inner surface 4 of the sole 2 coming into contact with the footpad in the case of wearing it; and the functional substance housed in the housing space part 8. Moreover, the footwear 1 comprises an inner sole 5 having a slit 9 for ventilation with the housing space part 8 and covering the opening part 7 of the sole 2.
