The sharpener has grooves in a longitudinal direction, where the grooves form sharp edges (75, 76) by the intersection of lateral walls of the grooves in a surface of a rod shaped body. The sharp edges concurrently rest against cutting edges of a knife for sharpening the edges (75, 76). Front end of the sharpener is tapered and a rear end is fastened to a grip. An inner edge (71) of the sharpener lies between the sharp edges.
