REVERSIBLY THERMOCHROMIC MICROCAPSULE PIGMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment capable of preventing light deterioration which generates whether in a color-developed state or in a color-faded state and excellent in contrast between the color-developed state and the color-faded state.

SOLUTION: The reversibly thermocromic microcapsule pigment is prepared by encasing a reversibly thermocromic composition in a capsule film wall. The reversibly thermocromic composition comprises (a) a specific lactone derivative as an electron-donating color-developing organic compound, (b) an electron-accepting compound and (c) a reaction medium which lets an electron-donating-accepting reaction between the above (a) and (b) constituents reversibly take place in a specific range of temperature.
