PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch by which a switching direction of its optical path is easily detected and by which an electric signal in a switching direction is obtained. SOLUTION: A transparent part is provided to a part of the cover of a package and a casing, and a light projector/receiver unit is installed in such a manner as covering the transparent part. The light exited from the light projector of the unit is reflected, shielded or passed with at least the movable block of an optical fiber switching mechanism, and then received by the light receiver of the unit, so that the electric signal recognizing the switching direction of the optical fiber is obtained. Since the projector and the receiver are integrated into one unit, the mounting and replacement of the light projector/receiver unit is facilitated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
