PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and observe the magnitude of the piling up of fibers. SOLUTION: An observing mechanism for outputting an electric signal by detecting the inconvenient accumulation (piling up) of a fiber material is present in the device for observing the fiber material in a pretreatment machine for spinning, e.g. a flat card, a roller card and a drawing frame, having at least one rotary roller for ejecting the fiber material. The observing mechanism has a noncontact sensor mechanism (sensor) capable of detecting the inconvenient accumulation of the fiber material to allow the inconvenient accumulation of the material to be instantly detected by a structurally simple form.
