<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation controller which can suppress the occurrence of spike noise and also can prevent the revolution of an engine from dropping greatly, being caused by the torque of a generator for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The power generation controller 2 is equipped with a bridge circuit 30 which supplies a field current to the generator 1 for a vehicle driven by an engine 10, a voltage detecting circuit 31 which outputs command signals for make and break of the field current so that the output voltage of the generator 1 for a vehicle may reach an adjusted voltage value, a power generation control circuit 15 which controls the break state of a power transistor 11, etc., according to the command signal output from the voltage detecting circuit 31, and an operation mode setting circuit 32 which selects either operation mode between a reflux mode and a regeneration mode by setting the break state of one power transistor 13.
