PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera system for remotely control the image pickup operation of a digital camera and a storing destination of image data, and to provide a digital camera. SOLUTION: Control signals (camera control commands) about image pickup operations such as setting of a photographic condition and release are each transmitted by a host digital camera 1 to at least one slave digital camera out of each of slave digital cameras 2-4 having a link established via a radio communication network 5, and the image data of at least one slave digital camera out of each of the slave digital cameras 2-4 are stored in arbitrary digital cameras 1-4, for example, the host digital camera 1 or each of the slave digital cameras 3, 4.
