PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which shortens the total image reading processing time, and moreover, enables a image reading system which fitted user's system to be selectable, and to provide a method of controlling it and a program. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus includes an image sensor 1102 which reads image data of an original, a light source 1101 which irradiates a light at the original, an A/D converter 1103 which converts to digital data about analog data, and image processors 1106 and 1107 which carry out the image processing on the digital data.
