PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker which can open and close a circuit a number of times at a short interval. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker is composed of a breaker part 1a having 3 phases of a pair of contacts 3 and 4 which can either be closed or opened freely, an electromagnetic repulsive coil part 1c, coupled with the breaker part 1a, having 3 phases of electromagnetic repulsive coil 12 which opens each pair of contacts 3 and 4 of the breaker part 1a, three power supply circuits 20a, 20b and 20c exciting each electromagnetic repulsive coil 12 of the electromagnetic repulsive coil part 1c with discharge currents of capacitors 15a, 15b and 15c, and an operation mechanism part 1d coupled with the electromagnetic repulsive coil part 1c and opens the pair of contacts 3 and 4 of the breaker part 1a. Each of the capacitors 15a, 15b and 15c of the three power supply circuits 20a, 20b, 20c has enough capacity to disconnect each pair of contacts 3 and 4 of the breaker part 1a at a time.
