PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent various impurities from mixing in an organic electroluminescent element at a manufacturing process thereof. SOLUTION: When refining organic material constituting an organic EL element, a solvent having dipole moment of 0.5 D or less is used. By the above, since the molecules having dipole moment of 0.5 D as impurities can be prevented from being taken into the EL element at the time of vapor deposition, the organic EL element having high light emission efficiency, with few deterioration of brightness with the passage of time at strong light emission, can be obtained.
