PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum switchgear capable of protecting an overload acting on operation part side of a switch driving part in case that the switch driving part switching an operation rod of the vacuum switch is broken down and becomes unable to operate. SOLUTION: The switchgear having a fixed electrode and a movable electrode contacting with and separating from the fixed electrode in a vacuum container is provided with a switch driving part 3 imparting an operation rod 8 of the movable electrode with a switching operation force; an operation part 4 composed of a motor 24, a worm 22 rotated by the motor, and a worm gear 21 engaging with the worm 22; a flexible coupling member 5 coupling the warm gear 21 of the operation part 4 with the operation part 4; and an overload protection device 23 installed between the motor 24 of the operation part 4 and the worm 22.
