System for laser marking of objects (O) comprises a laser marking device (1) and a detector (2) for optically detecting the laser markings on the objects. The detector generates a first set of data (DA1) characterizing selected properties of the markings and is connected to a first input of the laser marking device. Independent claims are also included for: (1) method for laser marking of objects using a system as above; (2) object marked by the above method; (3) control program defining the above method.
