<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform further the latest redeye-image correction processing as needed. <P>SOLUTION: If redeye-image correction processing has been applied to image data contained in an image file that has been stored on a memory card 11, what version of the processing was applied is recorded in the image file. If a digital still camera is capable of executing redeye-image correction processing whose version is newer than that of the redeye-image correction processing that has been applied to the image data contained in the image file recorded on the memory card 11, then this redeye-image correction of the newer version is executed in a correction processing circuit 9 of the digital still camera.
