<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white electroluminescent device with high display quality, and that, with excellent visibility from every angle as well as small field angle dependency of chromaticity. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic electroluminescent device provided with a substrate, and a luminescent layer pinched by a first electrode and a second electrode, and a structure for improving light-taking-out efficiency by diffraction and diffusion on any interface where total reflection is generated from the inside of the substrate at a light-taking-out side to the luminescent layer, a chromaticity at a field angle of 0° is within a range expressed in a triangle made by connecting three points (0.28, 0.44), (0.32, 0.28), (0.39, 0.32) on a coordinate on a chromaticity diagram xy calculated with the use of a CIE2° field standard observer (CIE1931 color matching functions), and so is a chromaticity at a field angle of 30°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
