<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the troubles for resetting while keeping security by retaining various kinds of setting values of a printing device for each user. <P>SOLUTION: This printing device is equipped with the authenticating function for a user, and stores the setting which determines the working condition of the printing device in a storage section at the time of login to the printing device by the registered authenticated user. The setting is read from the storage section at the time of a next login, and the printing device is constituted to be operated by the read setting. Also, the setting is a color designation of an operation screen which is provided in the printing device, and a background, characters and keys or the like of the operation screen are individually color-designated.
