PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically perform the updating processing of a license of an application. SOLUTION: An effect that the license of the application is automatically updated is set on a license information updating setting screen 12,000 of a composite machine. An automatic updating period and an automatic updating term of the license are inputted to input boxes 12,004 and 12,006. Whether the license is automatically updated several days before the expiration date of the license is expired and whether the license is automatically updated several sheets before the number of the sheets reaches an upper limit in printing the license are inputted to input boxes 12,007 and 12,008. Information concerning the automatic updating of the license is previously inputted and set. Consequently, the arrival of the updating timing of the license of the application is determined based on the license information such as the upper limit number of the sheets in printing, etc. Thus, the updating request of the license, etc., is automatically performed when the updating timing arrives.
