PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurate hand shake correction even under conditions that external vibration factors caused by each individual user, the movement of an object, vehicles and the like are acting. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus is provided with: horizontal and vertical vibration detection means for detecting vibration in the horizontal and vertical directions of a casing ;and a correction means for correcting a detection signal from at least one of the horizontal and vertical vibration detection means in accordance with a user's hand shake status, thereby correcting the hand shake of the imaging apparatus on the basis of the detection signal corrected by the correction means.
