PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a method capable of manufacturing an image display device by a sealing process using a conventional frit glass at low cost by regulating material composition of a soda-lime glass substrate, a cathode wiring material, and an inter-layer insulation film material. SOLUTION: A glass substrate 10A containing Na<SB>2</SB>O by 2 wt% or less is used. The thermal expansion coefficient is adjusted to the level of 75 to 90×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C which is the thermal expansion coefficient of the conventional soda-lime based glass substrate, by adjusting the weight ratio of alkali metal oxide excluding Na<SB>2</SB>O and alkali-earth metal oxide, for example, K<SB>2</SB>O. By the above, the diffusion of Na, which is most easily deposited, can be sharply reduced. Further, the diffusion of Na can be prevented by using an Al based material for the wiring material and SiN for the inter-layer insulation layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
