PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control display of a decoration pattern so that display of data information may become conspicuous when the display of the data information and the decoration pattern overlaps, in a light emitting display apparatus in which a decoration pattern display area and a data information display area are used in common. SOLUTION: A light emitting unit 12 is divided into the data information display area and the decoration pattern display area which is set in its surroundings, and the decoration pattern display area and the data information display area are used in common. When data of the data information and the decoration pattern are expanded into a video random access memory (VRAM) 15, a control means 14 (CPU) controls that a part of the data information is expanded into the VRAM while controlling the light emitting element of the decoration pattern display area adjoining a part of the data information displayed in the decoration pattern display area so that the data of the decoration pattern may not be expanded into VRAM 15, when the part of the data information is displayed in the decoration pattern display area.
