PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape comparison method for a mold and a molding capable of comparing a molding face shape of the molding with a molding face shape of the mold for molding the molding, in the same coordinate system, and capable of obtaining a direction and a level of deviation in the molding face, using a molding face of the mold as a reference. SOLUTION: This method measures the molding face of the mold 1, a three-dimensional shape of a target 2 for the mold fixed onto the mold 1, and a coordinate position in a measuring coordinate system of the target 2 for the mold, measures the molding face of the molding 5 mounted on the mold 1, a three-dimensional shape of a target 6 for the molding fixed onto the molding 5, and a coordinate position in the measuring coordinate system of the target 6 for the molding, and aligns the measured three-dimensional shape of the molding face of the the mold 1 and the measured three-dimensional shape of the molding face of the the molding 5 on the same coordinate system, using the measured coordinate position of the target 2 for the mold and the measured coordinate position of the target 6 for the molding.
