摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for an ethylenic polymer having a large number of long-chain branches, high melt tention and excellent moldability and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The method of polymerizing an olefin is carried out by using a polymerization catalyst constituted of a solid catalyst component obtained from (E), (A) and (C) and an optional component (D). Where, (E) is a solid carrier; (A) is at least one compound selected from (a-1) a specific metallocene compound of a group 4 element in the periodic table and (a-2) a specific compound of a group 4 transition metal in the periodic table; (C) is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (c-1) an organometallic compound, (c-2) an organoaluminumoxy compound and (c-3) a compound forming an ion pair by reacting with the compounds (A) and (B); and (D) is an organoaluminum compound.
