PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accident vehicle specifying system and an accident vehicle specifying method, leaving an evidence about an accident vehicle in an accident site, and capable of specifying the accident vehicle by obtaining information about the accident vehicle or an owner thereof from the evidence. SOLUTION: An IC tag (an RFID tag) recording data such as body information of the vehicle is equipped to a part which is easy to break at the time of an accident on an automobile exterior portion such as a cover of a headlight 1 and a cover of a tail light 2. The IC tag is made to drop at the time of the accident. A reader capable of communicating with the IC tag by non-contacting is disposed in the accident site. The reader detects the IC tag and reads out the recorded data, thereby obtaining the body information of the vehicle and specifying the vehicle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
