PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both enhancement of recording quality and high speed recording while enlarging the operational temperature range by lessening the impact of temperature variation of a liquid ejection head (ink jet head, or the like) on an ejection medium (ink, or the like) in operating environment. SOLUTION: An ink jet head is provided with a heating element independently from a heating resistor for imparting ejection energy to ink in an ink liquid chamber. The heating element is made to generate heat by a DC-like current component and the ink liquid chamber is heated regardless of impartation of ejection energy to the ink thus keeping the temperature in the ink liquid chamber above the ambient temperature at all times regardless of whether the heating resistor is driven or not.
