PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a note-taking table from stopping halfway through its descent or, adversely, from smashing against a stopper passing a position directly underneath at a high speed. SOLUTION: A mechanism for storing a note-taking table for chair 7 which stores a note-taking table 6 below an armrest 5 of a chair 1 is equipped with a note-taking table supporting arm 8 that turnably supports the note-taking table 6 around an axis line in the longitudinal direction of the note-taking table supporting arm between a storing position at a right angle to the storing position and a suing position, a note-taking table supporting shaft 9 that turnably supports the note-taking table supporting arm 8 around the axis line which extends in right and left directions from the chair 1 between an approximately horizontal using position and an approximately vertical storing position, and a viscous damper 11. It is also provided with a driving link 13 fixed onto the note-taking table supporting axis 9 by one end, a driven link 14 connected to the damper 11 by which turning movement around one end is restricted, and an unparallel and/or four-nodule link mechanism 12 of non-equivalent length which is equipped with a connecting link 15 that connects the other ends of the driving link 13 and the driven link 14, and which decelerates the driving link 13 and turns the driven link 14.
