<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of reducing the generation of bronzing in relation to a technique for printing a monochrome image. <P>SOLUTION: A thin black ink LK is prone to generate bronzing in the range of pixel values Re-Rf and pixel values Rg-Rh which correspond to ink quantities 50-70. In 1D-LUT 125a of Fig. (b) of the embodiment, ink quantities of a black ink K and an ultra thin black ink LLK are not smaller than the ink quantity of the thin black ink LK in the range of pixel values Re-Rf and pixel values Rg-Rh.
