<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving piezoelectric actuators wherein system down due to the excessive consumption of current can be avoided when multiple piezoelectric actuators are driven, and the complication of and increase in the size of circuitry can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The method is used for driving multiple piezoelectric actuators. Each piezoelectric actuator includes an oscillating body that is caused to vibrate by driving signals 201 and 202 of a predetermined frequency being supplied to a piezoelectric element. The frequency of the driving signals 201 and 202 supplied to each piezoelectric element is caused to sweep within a predetermined range. At the same time, the frequency is controlled with the timing of start of the sweep of the driving signals 201 and 202 shifted by ΔT, and the timing with which the consumption current of each piezoelectric element is maximized is thereby shifted. This makes it possible to suppress the peak value of the total consumption current 210 of the piezoelectric actuators, and avoid system down due to an excess of current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
