<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the frequency of access from a device to a server and to prevent a sudden increase in network traffic due to transmission of a download request in a device management system for downloading predetermined information used by a device from the server. <P>SOLUTION: A specified printer (a substitute printer) out of a plurality of printers connected to the network batch-transmits its own download request file and a download request file received from the other printer (a substituted printer) to a management server.
