<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system and a controller for obtaining image data where the imaging area of an object has brightness so that an image processing can be accurately performed without being affected by the brightness of a background area. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the controller 2, the imaging area of operator's face as the object is detected out of an image frame transmitted from the camera (S102), the average brightness of the imaging area of the detected face is calculated (S103), and when it is judged that the calculated average brightness is different from prescribed reference brightness (S105:YES), a gain value to be set is calculated, based on the gain value decided based on the results of the comparison between the average brightness and the reference brightness, the current irradiation time, the current imaging time and the current amplification factor (S106), then, the irradiation time, the imaging time and the amplification factor corresponding to the calculated gain value are decided (S107), and the setting of the imaging time and amplification factor of the camera, and the irradiation time of an LED are changed, based on the decided irradiation time, imaging time and amplification factor (S108). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
