PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which uses neither a metallic frame nor a back plate and is then made lightweight and low-cost in itself. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device of the present invention has a liquid crystal cell 10, a lighting means 20 which is arranged below it and comprises a light guide plate 21, a reflecting plate 23, a light source 22, etc., and a frame-shaped body 30 supporting the liquid crystal cell 10 and lighting means 20, and is provided with 1st spacer 50a and 50c having 1st tacky adhesives between an outer edge of one side of the liquid crystal cell 10 and an outer edge of the side opposed thereto and also provided with 2nd spacers 50b and 50d made of 2nd tacky adhesives between an outer edge of another side of the liquid crystal cell 10 and an outer edge of a side opposed thereto, and nonmetallic covers 40a to 40d are fitted to the respective sides of the outer edges to cover the outer edges in one body.
