<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device having raised heat dissipation which is supplied electric power from a DC power source, and turns on a discharge lamp used for a light source of a projector or a rear projection television. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device includes a lighting circuit block 1 with circuit components 3 of the lighting circuit on a mother board 2a for supplying the electric power from the DC to the discharge lamp, and a case 4 which contains the lighting circuit block 1 in its inside. The case 4 consists of a longwise boxy body 5 having an opening on its top, and a cover 6 which is attached to the opening to cover it. In the inside of the body 5, insulating filler 7 with good heat conductivity is filled in such a way that it covers at least the circuit components 3 of the lighting circuit. Consequently, the heat generated by heat generating components is conducted via the filler 7, and the high temperatures of the heat generating components can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
