PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lightweight and highly reliable FRP member for an airplane or an automobile, particularly a preform suitable for forming members having a counter boring structure for storing a head of a fastening bolt or a rivet within a face by RTM forming, a preform produced by the method, and a lightweight FRP shaped article using the preform. SOLUTION: In the producing method of the preform for producing a fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) having the counter boring structure, the counter boring portion and its periphery is shaped by overlaying a plurality of reinforcing fiber base materials having cut lines along a counter boring shape.
