PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device having an improved performance against spread of contamination with a liquid within a case. SOLUTION: The printer 100 comprises a discharge head 12 and a case 20 covering a scanning mechanism for moving the discharge head for scanning, and has vents 30 and 30 provided in the positions where the top face portion 20a and the side portion 20b of the case 20 contact. The vents 30 and 30 form discharge routes of air streams occurring in the case 20 by the scanning movement of the discharge head 12 and concentrate a mist contained in the atmosphere of the case 20 in the vicinities of the vents 30 by the air streams.
