PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a planographic printing plate capable of subjecting a planographic printing plate having a photopolymerizable photosensitive layer using a high-fineness screen in image exposure to development processing without the occurrence of image defects, such as unevenness in processing and the like, for a long period of time, and an automatic development apparatus. SOLUTION: In the processing method for such planographic printing plate and the automatic development apparatus, the photosensitive planographic printing plate having the photopolymerizable photosensitive layer on a support is subjected to laser exposure and thereafter, the high-fineness screen having≥250 lines as AM screen and≤50μm size of the minimum pixel constituting dots as an FM screen is used, and the photopolymerizable photosensitive layer of the unexposed part is removed by injecting liquid to the planographic printing plate under pressure of 9.8x10<SP>5</SP>to 19.6x10<SP>6</SP>Pa.
