<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation support system and an operation support method that enable an operator to appropriately cope with a status change in a plant by easily finding a necessary operation. <P>SOLUTION: A correlation extraction means 101 extracts correlations between operated objects necessary for plant operation. An operated object display means 102 displays each operated object in a display mode reflecting the degree of correlation with the operated objects extracted by the correlation extraction means 101. An anomaly detection means 103 detects an anomaly in the plant. The display by the operated object display means 102 then points the operated object that relates to the anomaly detected by the anomaly detection means 103. Alternatively, the operated object display means 102 displays selected operated objects relating to the anomaly detected by the anomaly detection means 103. A frequency acquisition means 105 acquires the occurrence frequency of events related to each operated object.
