PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detector which can transmit a rotation direction and a rotation angle to the outside without degrading noise resistance. SOLUTION: A waveform shaping circuit 5a connected to a first magnetic sensor 3 outputs a pulse signal Sa in accordance with the rotation angle of a rotating body 1 to a rotation direction decision circuit 6, a terminal A, or the like. A waveform shaping circuit 5b connected to a second magnetic sensor 4 outputs a pulse signal Sb in accordance with the rotation angle of the rotating body 1 to the rotation direction decision circuit 6. The rotation direction decision circuit 6 decides the rotation direction of the rotating body 1 on the basis of the pulse signals Sa, Sb and outputs a direction decision signal Sc indicating the rotation direction. A phase inverter 7 inverts the phase of the pulse signal Sa and outputs the inverted pulse signal Sd (having the opposite phase to that of the pulse signal Sa) to a signal selection circuit 8. The signal selection circuit 8 selects whether the pulse signal Sa is enabled to be output from a terminal B or the pulse signal Sd is enabled to be output from the terminal B on the basis of the direction decision signal Sc.
