PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a shutter box wherein the handling of external surface plate components for forming the external surface of a shutter box is easy. SOLUTION: A sliding door 3 is of a type hanging down from a rail running within a top frame 4. The sliding door 3 retreating guided by this rail is housed in the shutter box 9 provided within a wall 8. The external surface of the shutter box 9 has the bottom fringe of upper external surface components 51, 53 put on top of the reinforcements 52A, 54A of surface materials 52, 54 which serve as the foundation of wall board 12 installed on the shutter box 9. These surface materials 51 to 54 are square or nearly square in shape and arranged vertically.
