PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To visually confirm a condition of the ground on the bottom where an excavation pile reaches in mud water when constructing the excavation pile in the ground in a river or the ground having underground water. SOLUTION: This visual confirmation device 10 is constituted by hanging a case body 11 incorporating a light source device 16 and an underwater camera 12 in its inside and opening its bottom part in water 33 from above the ground at such attitude that its opening face in a bottom part approaches the ground 30 to be excavated, providing a plurality of short legs 21 forming a clearance at a peripheral fringe of an opening of the case body 11, feeding clear water into the case body 11 from above the ground, and replacing mud water in the case body 11 with clear water to observe contact of the ground 30 to be excavated by the underwater camera 12.
