PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to perform a complementary printing for non-delivery nozzles with minimizing the cost of throughput in an ink-jet recording head which performs a single-pass printing. SOLUTION: The complement for an adjoining non-delivery nozzle is performed by actuating the nozzle adjacent to the non-delivery nozzle twice per one column. The decrease of throughput due to the complement for the non-delivery nozzle is suppressed to minimum by minimizing the number of time sharing of the column which performs the complementary printing. For the drive of the nozzle for performing the complement, the time interval between a non-complement delivery and a complementary delivery is established longer than a nozzle-filling time.
