<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a density irregularity of an image as much as possible with respect to a photoreceptor in which charging irregularity and sensing irregularity coexist, while effectively utilizing beam light which scans in both directions in a forward passage and a backward passage with a reciprocating scanning type scanner. <P>SOLUTION: One direction (forward passage) of the beam light made to scan in both directions in the forward passage and the backward passage by the reciprocating type scanner 9 such as a resonance type optical scanner or the like, is used for writing electrostatic latent image on the basis of the pixel gradation decided by an image processing part, while the other direction of the beam light is used for correcting the distribution of the potential characteristics (the difference from a reference characteristic) for every divided region of the photoreceptor drum 1 with effective utilization. More practically, an amount of exposure of the beam light in the backward passage is set to the amount of exposure of light raised by the differential amount of exposure between the common specified reference amount of exposure of light to all the divisions of the photoreceptor drum 1 and the amount of exposure of light obtained by applying the specified reference potential which is common to all the divisions relative to the exposure potential characteristics in each division. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
