<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive image forming apparatus capable of easily and accurately predicting the reduction of a toner residual quantity by determining a user's use condition at any time. <P>SOLUTION: A discrimination means for discriminating that the toner residual quantity is less than a constant times the toner consumption in the previous day is provided, so that the time when toner will run out can be predicted in reference to a use condition in the previous day. An input means for inputting the constant is provided, and the user sets the number of days for which toner is enough, to perform the discrimination. Or a discrimination means which discriminates that the toner residual quantity is less than an integral of the toner consumption for the last prescribed period is provided, so that the time when toner will run out can be predicted in reference to the use condition not only in the previous day but also, for example, in the last week. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
